In 2026 the Children's Ministry will:
Provide fun and meaningful experiences for the Christian education and spiritual formation of children who attend FUMC with their families and others in the Clover community by offering:
- The Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt – March 29 2-4 pm.
- Vacation Bible School - an amazing week of LOVE and JOY for children of all age 4 through 5th grade, filled with Bible truth, games, arts and crafts, music, and worship! This event involves the entire church family, planning, preparing, and serving for four days. We invite the whole Clover community to come join the celebration on Sunday, June 14 – Wednesday June 17.
- Community Fall Fair – In the Missions and Fellowship Center we provide games, a Bounce House, fun activities, and craft stations for all ages, sweets, and more for all TBA
- Joyful Cherubs – a time for the children, kindergarten through 5th grade, to come together to sing and learn to play handbells. Practices are currently held on Wednesdays, 6:00-6:20 pm in the sanctuary, through May. Joyful Cherubs perform during the worship service. TBA
The Children's Council is an organized group of church members who plan activities and events for children aged preschool through 5th grade. Our Children's Council works hard to bless and care for all the children who grace the life of First United Methodist Church by
- Modeling Christian character in all exchanges with and about children
- Using Safe Sanctuary trained and approved volunteers and following Safe Sanctuary
- Involving our pastors and lay people of all age levels in the life of the Children through events and activities.
The Children's Council encourages and supports the work by other ministry areas on behalf of the children in the church and community. Children are also served through:
Worship- Parents are encouraged to bring their children to worship. Children worship with their families for Holy Communion the first Sunday of each month, while other Sundays the children, age 4 through 5th grade, participate in Godly Play (see Christian Education). For the littlest members, both infant and toddler nursery are offered during the service. (see the nursery page for more information).
